Create an Email Using Text Type

It is recommended to start building your HTML email from an IU Branded template and use content blocks we provide. You can find the templates in the “IU Branded Templates folder” located in the Shared section. You can find the blocks themselves in the IU Assets folder.

Create a text-only email message in Salesforce Marketing Cloud Content Builder

The Text Only option allows you to access the WYSIWYG editor to create and format a simple email message. This email version does not contain or offer any branding graphics or images.

  1. In "Create Email", select Text Only from the drop-down menu.

  2. Under Define Email Properties, give the email a descriptive name.
  3. Select a location where you will save the email.
  4. Enter the subject of the email (required).
    Note:
    After entering the subject, click the Save button that appears when you click into the "Subject" field; otherwise, it will not save.

  5. Enter the email text.

    Important:
    When sending email from cases, be careful not to include any protected health information (ePHI) that might be present in the Salesforce case.
  6. Click the </> in the WYSIWYG menu to add the Physical Mailing Address and Profile Center links.
